Gotu Kola – Ancient Ayurveda alchemised

Share the love.FacebooktwitterpinteresttumblrmailFacebooktwitterpinteresttumblrmail

This dainty little herb (related to parsley) has been used for centuries in traditional Indonesian, Chinese, and Ayurvedic medicine. As we all presumed, they were definitely onto something. Not only is it absolutely incredible inside the body – especially for the brain and cognitive function, but it is just as phenomenal when applied on our skin, as part of our overall skincare routine.

In China, Gotu Kola is called the β€œfountain of youth” and it has been referred to as β€œbotox in a bottle” for the way it works in enhancing the synthesis of collagen – healing wounds, scarring, deep wrinkles, firming the skin, and promoting the growth of hair and nails. It promotes blood circulation and increases the strength of the epidermis, enhancing our natural production of hyaluronic acid.Β

It’s also high in magnesium, which we all know supports our thyroid and hormones (including stress), which we just can’t get enough of (magnesium, not stress, that is).

So with us riding high (metaphorically of course) on this powerful little herb, we brought it to you as one of the star ingredients in our new sleepover bestie, theΒ Kakadu Plump Masque.Β

We made this masque to really plump and firm the skin, boosting collagen production and giving you (and us) that *glow*. With the combination of Kakadu Plum (the world’s richest source of vitamin C) and the superstar Gotu Kola (as well as many more of their friends in the bottle), we aren’t going to be backwards in coming forwards when we say – we really nailed it with this product. Read a little more about our new sleepover masquesΒ here.
